Unpacking OpenAI's updates and what they mean for startups

There was massive, world-shaking news over the past few weeks that will fundamentally alter the economy forever.

We finally got a Taylor & Travis kiss.

Apparently, there was also some announcement about something called AI from a company called OpenAI, where made some announcements that have sent shockwaves through the startup ecosystem.

While obviously not as impactful as the first nugget of news, there are a few computer folks debating the impact of the news, and there seems to be little consensus on exactly what these announcements mean.

Some view these developments as harbingers of doom for early-stage startups, others see a dawn of unprecedented opportunities. I’d argue that the reality of the direction of impact is somewhere in the middle, but the magnitude of said impact will likely be felt strongly throughout the entire ecosystem:
